Travel Basketball Tryouts are now in progress. If you need information about dates and locations, please go to the Board page and contact the appropriate VP of travel for boys or girls. We appreciate all the interest on the part of the players and parents. This year we have over 20 travel teams in grades 4 through 8 which includes boys and girls. For players that do not make a travel team, the WBA would like to encourage you to contact the VP of Travel for your gender to inquire about possible opportunities to play AAU basketball in the spring, summer and fall.

The typical time committment for the season will be a practice one school night per week, a home game or an away game one school night per week and possibly a game on the weekend.

Winter travel league seasons usually start in Mid December and run through early March. Some travel teams play in pre-season and post-season tournaments.

Cost for participation in the WBA travel program is $325.00 for the season. That includes the uniform (players keep the uniform) and all league fees and one travel tournament per season. Each player is required to purchase a new uniform each year. There could be additional costs if your team enters additional tournaments at the end of the year.

The typical season will include more games for the older aged teams with the 7th and 8th graders playing in the neighborhood of 25 games and a tournament or two. The younger teams will be playing 18-20 games during the year and a tournament or two.

The WBA is encouraging interested parents with basketball backgrounds to contact us if there is an interest in being a Head Coach or an Assistant Coach of one of our travel teams. Your child need not be on a team that you would be willing to coach. Please contact the appropriate VP of Travel Basketball listed in under our Board link.
ALL COACHES ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE TAKEN THE RUTGERS S.A.F.E.T.Y COURSE AND TO SUBMIT BACKGROUND INFORMATION TO THE WBA IN COMPLIANCE WITH OUR SAFE KIDS PROGRAM.
