Ours
is a Reform Synagogue whose members reside throughout Union County and
beyond. Affiliated with the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, Temple
Emanu-El was founded in 1950 and currently serves over 1100 member families.
Our
Program
The
program of our synagogue emphasizes Jewish tradition, education, youth,
and social justice. We try to be a caring community. Our active affiliates
include Men's Club, Sisterhood, Adult and Junior Choirs, Senior and Junior
Youth Groups, Chavurot, Young Couples, Renaissance Group (retired/semi-retired),
Friendship Group (Seniors), Lauren Danis Eldernet Project, and a Group
of Jewish Singles. Our Early Childhood Center and Religious School offer
superior educational opportunities for our children.
Worship Services Friday evening services begin at 8:15 p.m. On the first Friday of each month join us for Shabbat Hallelu at 7:45 p.m. celebrating Shabbat in joyous song.
On Shabbat mornings you are invited to our informal traditional Shabbat Study Minyan at 10 a.m. in the Lehr Library or our Shabbat Service in the Sanctuary at 10:30 a.m.
On the following dates, we celebrate Simchat Shabbat, a service of song, study, and prayer, at 9 a.m. in the Brody Chapel: December 21, January 11 & 25, February 8 & 22, March 8 & 22, April 12 & 26, and May 10 & 24.
Our daily evening minyan is held at 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday in the Brody Chapel.
Hearing augmentation headphones and large print prayerbooks are available from the ushers.
