Philmont

Scouting's High Country Challenge

We are please to announce that our Council will have a contingent attend the 137,000 acre Philmont Scout Reservation in the rugged wilderness of Sangre De Cristo Mountain Range near Cimmaron, New Mexico. The contingent will leave August 8th and return on August 21, 1999. Enroute you will visit place like the Air Force Academy, Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods.

Once you reach Philmont, you'll embark on twelve memorable days of backpacking and other other outdoor activities. Depending on your crew, you may burro pack, horseback ride, pan gold, skeet shoot, fish, rock climb, study conservation, or become involved in any number of exciting adventures. Chuckwagon food or Mexican dinners usually occur at some point during the trip.

The trip includes travel via major air lines and national bus companies supervised by experienced adults from the Patriot Path Council. If you are interested in participating, please contact the council for the 2000 trek to Philmont..
