Note to Adults:
  The goal of these activities is to develop an appreciation of the world around him, and an awe for its Creator. Also, it will provide the basis for several hobbies and interests that may extend into the future.

In addition, several of the activities provide an opportunity to explore energy conservation and to interpret the relationship of one energy source to another.

Perhaps, most importantly, you are given the opportunity through this big idea to reinforce your own values about environment, energy, and even spirituality.

 
  Activity Suggestions for Families:
   1. Plant a tree.
 
   2. Feed the birds.
 
   3. Collect your own fish bait and go fishing.
 
   4. Make sun tea.
 
   5. Observe the stars; identify some constellations; find the North Star.
 
   6. Go camping as a family.
 
   7. Discuss some ways you can save water in your home.
 
   8. Discuss some ways to conserve electricity in your home.
 
   9. Take a hike and look at wild flowers--but don't pick any.
 
  10. Make some leaf rubbings.
 
  11. Plant a garden.
 
  12. Adopt a pet.
 
  13. Pick an outdoor project of your own.
 
 
  Activity Suggestions for the Tiger Cub Den:
   1. Visit the zoo.
 
   2. Go fishing.
 
   3. Have a sunrise picnic.
 
   4. Visit a wastewater or water treatment plant.
 
   5. Go to a planetarium.
 
   6. Draw a big, big map of the stars.
 
   7. Tell stories about outer space.
 
   8. Have a "Creepy Critter" race.
 
   9. Visit a veterinarian.
 
  10. Find out if your community has any nature trails and take a group hike.
 
  11. Hold a nature scavenger hunt.
 
  12. Visit a power plant.
 
  13. Come up with outdoor projects of your own.
