Operation Safe Cub Scouting
Pack Award
 
 
 
  The Patriots' Path Council provides a special recognition for packs that qualify as a Safe Scouting unit. A Pennant Streamer for the Pack's flagpole is awarded.

The award period is from January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2000. Units must complete 6 of 10 criteria listed below. Items marked with an asterisk are required. All criteria must have been completed in 2000.

 
  Requirements:
  Complete items 1 through 4. Then, choose two more items from the list.
 
  ____  *1.   An annual unit meeting place inspection has been conducted.
 
  ____  *2.   All youth and adult members have completed a Health History Class I or Class 2 or 3 Medical Examination form as appropriate. Leaders working with youth are aware of the physical capabilities and health restrictions of members.
 
  ____  *3.   Pack implements the BSA Tour Permit Application process.
 
  ____  *4.   Our Pack Health & Safety Chairman is "Risk Zone" trained.
 
  ____    5.   Our pack has developed an emergency crisis plan for camping trips and activities.
 
  ____    6.   Our pack has developed a Certified First-Aider and maintains a complete first aid kit for pack activities.
 
  ____    7.   All adult volunteers are BSA Youth Protection Trained.
 
  ____    8.   Seventy percent or more of our Cub Scouts and Webelos will have earned the "Operation Safe Cub scouting Youth" recognition.
 
  ____    9.   Our pack has an adult leader certified in Safe Swim Defense or is BSA lifeguard trained.
 
  ____   10.   Our pack conducts annual showing of "It Happened to Me" video to new Cub Scouts and families.
