| The BSA Crime Prevention program assists neighborhoods and communities
in their efforts to prevent crime. It also helps the scouts learn about
personal safety, making safe choices, and finding help when needed.
There are two phases to the program: 1) individual study within the family or den, and 2) a crime prevention project. |

| Requirements: | |||
| Phase I. Complete activities from the program book in which you are working, as indicated below, and discuss how they relate to crime prevention in the family. | |||
| First Grade - Tiger Cubs BSA Family Activity Book | |||

| Hold a family meeting and discuss ideas from the "youth" section listed below. | |||

| Discuss how your family can better understand community resources related to crime prevention. | |||

| Phase II. Participate with your family, den, pack, or friends in a crime prevention project, either an original project or a project of a neighborhood- or community-based organization. Before beginning the project, have the unit leader approve your choice. | |||

The Crime Prevention Award is available to Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, and
Webelos Scouts. It can be earned once at each level using a different set of
requirements. Recognition consists of patches, wallet cards, certificates,
and/or pins. The patch can be worn on the uniform shirt, centered on the
right pocket as a temporary insignia.
