VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Troop Leader - A trained registered adult
who regularly meets with a group of girls inspiring them to follow
the purpose and principles of Girl Scouting.
Assistant Troop Leader - A trained registered
adult who assists or works jointly with the troop leader.
Interest Group Leader - A trained registered
adult who leads or advises a group of girls with a special interest.
Troop/Group Committee Member - An adult affiliated
with a troop that provides support and continuity by serving as
a troop treasurer, troop family share person, troop product sales
manager, troop telephone caller, troop record keeper, etc.
Sponsor - Troop sponsorship is a voluntary
partnership between a Girl Scout troop/group and another organization
such as a business, a religious group, a service club, a professional
organization or a school for the purpose of bringing Girl Scouting
to girls.
Product Sales Manger - An organized Adult
who coordinates the Product Sales. This can be done on a troop or
Service Unit Level. The Service Unit Product Sales Manger receives
training and disseminates the sale information to the troop leaders.
They collect the order forms from all the troops and submit one
order to the council. On the troop level, the Product Sales Manager
disseminates the information to the girls and parents and collects
order forms. Then submits one order for the troop.
Service Unit Manager - the volunteer administrator
of the service team responsible for guiding and directing Girl Scouting
in a geographic area. Requires running meetings and managing a group
of volunteers.
Service Unit Organizer - An adult member
of the Service Team who is responsible for coordinating the organizers
and troop leaders in a specific school or community.
