SCOTCH PLAINS --- A few members of Troops 417 & 889 from the Fanwood/Scotch Plains Community  had an opportunity to visit VFW Post 10122 during their monthly meeting at the Italian-American Hall in Scotch Plains on April 10. As part of the troops' community service activities, they thought it would be a nice idea to bring refreshments for the men. The refreshments included coffee, brownies and, of course, Girl Scout cookies. It was a small way for the girls and their parents to say thank you for the sacrifices these brave gentlemen made for our country as they did battle in foreign wars. The girls and a few of their parents had an opportunity to meet the veterans, take a few pictures and ask questions. As the girls exited, all commented on how good it felt to donate some of their cookie sale proceeds to these very nice and brave men.  Below is a photo of the girls with some of their new friends.
