Dunellen/Green
Brook Troop Stays Busy |
DUNELLEN -- Troop 876 of GSWRC's Dunellen/Green Brook
Community stayed busy over the past few months. During the winter,
the troop auditioned to sing the National Anthem for the Somerset
Patriots at Menlo Park Mall during open auditions. While they did not
get elected to sing, they performed the services of the Color Guard at a
home game on May 22 (first photo). In April the troop took part in a
hike at Duke Island State Park in Bridgewater and learned about the
natural environment. Two wonderful guides were on hand to answer all the
questions that arose. (second photo). The girls wore their green
visors as they marched down the streets of Dunellen in their community's
annual Memorial Day parade. (third photo). Finally, in mid-June the
girls made the trek to Millington, N.J. to pay a visit to the birds at
the Raptor Trust. The girls were able to get up close to many birds of
prey including the Bald Eagle, the Raven named Jake and Peregrine
Falcons. The snowy owl was among the group's favorites (fourth photo).
