FIVE TO REPRESENT GSWRC AT
NATIONAL CONVENTION

Five members of the Girl Scouts of Washington Rock Council Community will head to Atlanta to take part in the 50th renewal of the Girl Scouts of the USA National Council Session.  Billed by GSUSA as one of the most important council sessions in history, the event will take place from October 7-10 in the Peach State.  The GSWRC delegation, which consists of five elected delegates, one alternate and a number of visitors, will join nearly 15,000 other Girl Scouts from the 50 states as well as representatives from Girl Scouts of the USA Overseas.

Council President Tiffany Wilson of Plainfield will be joined by Debbie Esposito and Nancy Faulks of Roselle, Jennifer Bauer of Scotch Plains and Amy DeGaetano of Mountainside.  The alternate is Joanne Otlowski of South Plainfield.

In the midst of her first term at the helm of the GSWRC Board, Wilson is a longtime member of the GSWRC community having come up through the ranks in Girl Scouting.  A practicing attorney, she served on the GSWRC Board for four years before becoming its President.  Longtime members of the Roselle Girl Scout Community, both Esposito and Faulks have been heavily involved with Girl Scouting in Roselle as well as throughout the entire GSWRC jurisdiction.  Faulks is Roselle’s current Service Unit Manager, heading all the activities in her community while Esposito served in the position prior.  Otlowski has served the South Plainfield Community as well as Council as a trainer and is approaching her 20th year of adult involvement.

Bauer and DeGaetano both attend local high schools and bring youthful energy and a fresh perspective to the delegation.  Bauer earned her Gold Award in the spring of 2005 while DeGaetano is a Silver Award recipient and is currently preparing to earn her Gold Award.
